RMR Calorie Calculation
RMR stands for Resting Metabolic Rate, and is synonymous with Resting Energy Expenditure or REE.
RMR is the amount of calories required to maintain your weight at rest. In other words, the calories needed to run your body, including breathing, keeping your heart beating, pumping your blood, constant cell renewal, digestion, elimination, etc. Basically everything going on within you that keeps you alive.
For calculating your RMR use the following calculator.
Since most of us get out of bed and move around each day, we have additional calorie needs over and above our RMR.
To calculate your daily calorie needs,
choose your activity level and calculate your daily calorie needs.
This is how many calories you can eat per day without
gaining weight. To lose those extra pounds, you'll have
to burn more calories than you eat, either by exercising more or eating less.
If you are not eating near your daily required calories, your body and brain will respond by sending constant signals for food
- nourishment. No wonder it's so difficult to stay on a calorie restricted diet.
